Group Mountain Bike Ride at Ella Sharp Park
every Monday night at 6:00pm 
The group meets in the museum parking lot and gives riders a seven minute window
before leaving for the ride. The ride is open to all skill levels and ages of riders. Rides
usually range between 8 and 10 miles for the evening finishing around 8:00pm.

Canoe Trips down the Grand River! G.R.E.A.T. promotes public awareness for the need to protect and preserve the Grand River. Our trips are monthly on Sunday afternoons.  The public is invited and there are no fees, even if they use our boats.

To kickoff Mental Illness Awareness Week, LifeWays and the MindChangers will be holding a 5K Walk for Suicide Prevention on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 12 pm.  The walk will be held at the Cascade Falls Pavilion in Jackson and will include a free lunch for all registrants.  Check-in will be from 11 am until 12 pm and the walk will begin at 12 pm with multiple routes marked to suit a variety of athletic abilities.  To register for the event and your free t-shirt by September 22, 2008, please visit www.lifewaysmco.com to download a registration form or call LifeWays Customer Services at (517) 780-3332 or toll-free at (866) 630-3690.

 

Jackson County Department on Aging is offering exercise classes, including Low Impact Aerobics, Chair Exercises, Balancing Ball, and Strenghtening Classes for seniors. 

Low Impact Aerobics Classes begin September 8, 2008 at various Senior Nutrition sites.  Classes will be held Mondays and Wednesdays with the series ending Wednesday November 26, 2008.  Suggested donation of $1/class for adults aged 60 and older, and $2/class for those younger.

 Chair Exercise Classes are held at various Senior Nutrition sites throughout the week.  No cost for class or use of equipment and no prior registration is necessary. 

Balance Ball Classes begin September 8, 2008 at the Crouch Senior Center.  Classes will be held Wednesdays through November 26, 2008 from 12:15pm-1pm in Room 005.  No cost for equipment use, however suggested donation of $1/class for adults aged 60 and older, and $2/class for those younger.

 Strengthening Classes begin September 8, 2008 at the Crouch Senior Center.  Classes will be held each Monday through November 24, 2008 from 10am-10:30am in Room 005.  No cost for equipment use, however suggested donation of $1/class for adults aged 60 and older, and $2/class for those younger.
