Join us to celebrate the end of a summer full of Smart Commuting. We will announce the results of the Smart Commute 2013 and present awards to the Commuter Challenge Champions, including the Smart Commute Bike Rack Trophy!
Grass Lake Group Commute
Out final group commute of the summer leaves from the train station in Grass Lake. Many people commute from the east side of the county into the city. This 11.5-mile ride down Page Ave. gives you a chance to try out biking to work in a comfortable group setting.
High Heel Bike Ride
We often hear from people who think that the professional dress required for their job excludes them from Smart Commuting. This ride is a fun way to show that you can look good and ride a bike. Men and women are invited to dress in their finest outfits and join this short, lunch-time ride through downtown Jackson.
Falling Waters Group Commute (and Coffee with the Chamber)
The peace and quiet of an early morning ride on the Falling Waters Trail is a great way to get focused and ready for work. Join us for some friendly conversation and great scenery as we ride the trail from Concord to downtown as a warm-up for the work day.

Once again, the Fitness Council partners with the GREAT (Grand River Environmental Action Team) for a morning paddle to work. See the city from a whole new perspective as we wind through the quiet backwaters of Jackson and disembark right down town! This is really the most fun you can have getting to work!
Meet the Bus: a JATA feild trip to the Reynolds Field Aviation Park
Join us for a bus trip to the dedication ceremony of a new monument in the Aviation Heritage Park at the Jackson County Airport. JATA provides a chance to experience our great transit system first-hand. Join us for a free ride on their state-of-the-art bus. You can try out the bike racks on the bus and see how easy, comfortable, and fun it can be to ride the bus.
